Limitrophy as transformational process

Updated: Apr 27, 2022

Limitrophy by Tiny Domingos 2022

"Love consists of this: two solitudes that meet, protect and greet each other."

Rainer Maria Rilke

Limitrophy can be seen as a zone of friction, of fruition and fertilization, of interface and contact with otherness. 2500 million years ago the first events of Endosymbiosis began in which 2 diverse single-celled bacteria came together for the first time, thus initiating the evolution of multi-cellular organisms. Another important step was the exploits of the Tiktaalik roseae at the end of the Devonian Period (375 million years ago). A fish that decided to go where no one expected it to go and do what no other creature of its time had had the idea to do: the first forays out of the water. To set out to discover uncharted territories, having the curiosity and courage to follow its path on a journey radically transformative in all terms.

Until today the intermediate zone where water and land meet and mix is the humid and muddy space of surprising exchanges, emergences and metamorphoses. TD, Sept 2021
